The G Spot - short for the Geoff Spot - was a variety show that featured interviews with artist, screening of short films, comedy skits, bands and cooking segments. Geoffrey Smith was the host, producer and director of the show. Geoffrey Michele was Geoffrey’s screen/stage name on the show.The G SpotThe Disclaimer: The G Spot is a television show in development. The producers of this show have no negative intentions, although they do wish to entertain and enlighten.The G Spot television show started in Norman, Oklahoma in 2001 when 4 friends joined the community producer program at their local Cox cable station. They were eager to produce a show that gave audiences something different. Since then over seventy-five episodes have been completed and broadcast to the community, and continue to be produced for public access television in Norman.The G Spot challenges the concepts of traditional television while maintaining a consistency that brings viewers back again and again. This variety show consists of short films, animations, sketch comedy, interviews, coverage of cultural events, live bands, cooking segments, and much, much more. The show is stylistic in its presentation using a variety of formats and content, transition segments, and music to persistently stimulate the audience. The show’s host, Geoffrey Michele, speaks directly to the audience and includes them in conversations with the guests keeping the viewer engaged. The G Spot provides progressive media art to an adult audience.It is the sincere hope of the producers that the G Spot will develop into a show that will reach audiences far beyond community access programming. Geoffrey L. Smith – Creator and producer of The G Spot. Geoffrey also serves as host and director. Graduate of Oklahoma University with Bachelors degree in Media Arts. Has worked on and appeared in several independent film productions. He teaches youth and adult film and video production classes at local museums, schools, and churches. Geoffrey contracts for a variety of sports media companies working at live and recorded sporting events (ESPN, Fox Sports, ABC Sports, Cox, and Hornets NBA basketball). Geoffrey is currently working on pre-production and production phases with several documentaries and TV show projects. G Spot FormatWhen produced for network or cable television the G Spot would be shot in the HD format and would be a thirty minute episode show with commercials. The show would maintain its tradition of promoting the independent short film format and independent animations while surrounding those films with comedy, conversation and other points of interest in an innovative and artistic way. It would also maintain the perspective from host Geoffrey Michele. As the host, Geoffrey will guide the audience through the show and its various forms of entertainment. Geoffrey will occasionally go behind the camera to shoot interviews and footage to give the audience his perspective and view. This would be a different role from the other talk show and variety show host in the past on network television. The G Spot would also be a traveling produced show, traveling from city to city, cultural event to event. G Spot episode segments would include: ‘Cooking at the G Spot’ with recipes for the everyman;‘On the Spot’ at cultural events such as art openings, film festivals, and concerts; Live bands perform, interview and interact with Geoffrey Michele;Sketch comedy with a variety of G Spot players;Theme shows such as holidays and tribute episodes;Interviews with artists, filmmakers, poets, actors, musicians, people on the street, and anyone of interest to the target audience; and Artistic transition and promotion segments in a documentary and interpretive style.Segments would be produced in the field or in a studio in the city where the cast and crew are located at the time of production. Field segments would require travel to event locations.
